I have installed mpich2 on a Windows 2012 Essentials server
machine and I have successfully sent jobs to it remotely without
doing anything different than in my own workstation (Windows8
x64). I have configured mpiexec to use particular ports and added
the relevant rule in windows firewall. So there shouldn't be any
compatibility issues arising from the OS itself... I assume you
installed mpich2 as an Administrator.<br>

multiple user accounts with the same result.</p>

it's worth I have made sure that I have the same firewall
settings for the mpich executables as on the 2008 R2 servers.</p>
