[mpich-discuss] MPI scatter algorithms for BlueGene/P

BG/P is such an ancient machine, that we don't even remember anymore, unfortunately.

You might be able to pull out the old releases of mpich (the ones where there used to be a dcmfd device in the src/mpid directory), and check.
