Try the following configure command, by adding the PVFS2 include path to CPPFLAGS,
library path to LDFLAGS and -lpvfs2 to LIBS.
./configure --prefix=/path/to/install \
--enable-romio \
--with-file-system=ufs+pvfs2 \
CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/orangefs/include" \
LDFLAGS="-L/opt/orangefs/lib" \
LIBS="-lpvfs2"
